Database Developer/Administrator
 
HarborObjects, LLC, is a Microsoft Partner and a consulting firm in Orange County. We are seeking a talented, enthusiastic and motivated database developer/administrator. This position is ideal for someone who is not only a database guru, but also a great communicator who is able to take requirements directly from our clients, and impliment solid solutions. Responsibilities:

• Develop stored procedures, queries and functions.
• Design new databases.
• Maintain multiple production databases.
• Design/monitor nightly data feeds.
• Implement backup/disaster recovery strategy.
• Ensure high availability.
• Provide first line of support for internal applications.
• Provide basic troubleshooting of servers, network, and PCs.

Required Skills:

• 3 to 5 years hands on experience developing queries, stored procedures, functions and maintaining databases in SQL Server environment.
• Solid understanding of relational database concepts and SQL.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex queries, data feed interfaces, and fine tune performance.
• Ability to think on their feet, work independently and multitask.

Desired skills:

• Knowledge of SQL Server Reporting Services and Integration Services.
• Some programming ability in ASP.Net, C#, and VBA.
• Understanding of data warehouse concepts.
• Familiarity with investment management / financial services industry.

Education:

• Associate/Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS or equivalent.
